Showcase

Some software projects I would like to showcase…

Synkick

“What if you walk into a pub, and their system instantly integrates your music taste into their playlist?”

Synkick logo
Synkick was a tech start-up delivering an innovative new app to international markets. Our debut product delivered your taste of music right into the playlists of every Synkick connected pub you visit without taking your smartphone out of your pocket. It recognizes your favorite bands, and those of your friends at the pub. It assembles the tastes in bundles of genres using our algorithm and will play them like a DJ that somehow just keeps playing music you love.

“All without taking your phone out of your pocket.”

Contribution: I developed the Android app containing a network analyzer which determines user locations based on WiFi, Bluetooth and BLE beacons. Integrated music services. Setup CI/ID and API-testing

Techstack: Android stuff (Java, Gradle, Dagger) with Android Studio, Google Play Services, Swagger, Jenkins, BitBucket, REST, SOAP-UI Synkick mobile impressions

Cryptotrends

“If you can’t beat them, join them”

Synkick

Created a crypto backtesting application. Used for testing crypto trading strategies. Integrated application with Binance API, CoinMarketCap API and a shitload of OHLCV data.

Techstack: Kotlin, Spring, Docker, JUnit, JSON, PostgreSQL, GitLab

Volunteer Computing

“A little bits of calculating”
Synkick

I build a distributed processing network which obtained computing power by using the processing resources donated by web users while browsing company websites. These users had the ability to opt-in their processing resources.

The computing power was used for scientific research. The company that owns the website selected the projects for their webservers on which they wanted to contribute. To kickstart the network, I added projects from BOINC – a widely known distributed computing power platform.

In addition to the BOINC projects, I build a registration application where research institutions could register their projects and companies could also register and download the framework.
